Women Have Power

Okay, so last night was my second overnight in a two week period and here I am telling you about it. So my overnights name was Amanda Charles and I simply adored her. She was the cutest thing ever. We just clicked! She clicked with my roomate and everything. I showed her around campus, and then we went to Bubble House for bubble tea (of course) and then kind of hung around my dorm. Great stuff. (I'm telling you, overnights are the best).

Also last night I went to this Women and Leadership progam. It basically talked about how women have to adjust to fit into a male dominated world. I learned so much from it. The two speakers gave us seven tips of successful women, so I'm going to share them with you.

1. Get A Mentor
2. Make Yourself Visible
3. Take Every Oppurtunity To Toot Your Own Horn (Although don't over do it, no one likes a snob)
4. Learn Good Communication Skills
5. Learn To Balance Work And Home (Home doesn't have to mean a husband and kids, it can be babysitting and soccer practice, or it can be house chores and movies with your friends)
6. Take SMART Risks (Don't do anything that will put anyone or anything in harms way)
7. Understand The Politics (Know what's going on around you)

Well, there you have it, seven tips to help you become the greatest woman in the world. Network, put yourself out there, it'll take you so far. Which is one of the great things about co-op because it gives you a chance to learn how to work in the business world and to "understand the politics". It was so insightful. So I'm challenging you young ladies, and even the bashful young men, to break molds, and become greatness. (You can start by coming to Drexel).

I loved the women's seminar. Another great event on campus. A few more things I plan on going to is a fashion show, a dinner in honor of Bob Marley, and I'm even going to see Meet The Spartans tomorrow night (me and my girls are having a ladies night out in Philadelphia). Whelp, I have to tests tomorrow that I need to study for, I love you all, and get those applications in. The sooner you get them in, the sooner you can come and join the fun.

Twist of Fate

So tonight I was a bit disappointed, yet I still ended up having the best night ever! I did go to the play like I promised but I didn't actually get in. They can only take ten cultural passports a night, and then everyone else has to pay. So me and my friends got turned away. That didn't let us down though! Drexel always has something to do! So to cheer us up, my R.A. had a hot chocolate party for the entire floor. She even brought whipped cream. The girls on the floor sat around and chatted about classes and tests, it was great! That made up for everything.

I also had an overnight last night. We went to the basketball game against William and Mary and it was so intense. Drexel was amazing. We lost by one point in overtime! One point! I almost fell out of the stands. I also took my overnight to the bubble house for bubble tea (tea with tapioka balls at the bottom.) I don't really like tapioka, so I got pineapple instead. Overall the overnight was great, so once you apply to Drexel and get accepted, apply for an overnight. Maybe you'll get me, and we'll have so much fun!!

So now, I'm hanging with my friends. We're probably going to go hang out in Center City tonight, maybe we can catch the shopping area before it closes. (If you don't come to Drexel for anything else, come for the shopping!! King of Prussia will have you going crazy!!)

I'm ghost. Love you all....

Educational Fun?

Welcome welcome welcome. So I just got finished writing two reaction papers. One for history, the other one was for sociology. It took me three hours to write two one page papers. That's probably because I was watching the history channel. Me being the history major I am, the history channel is my life. We're learning about the black plague. It's pretty gross, but of course the guys in my class think it's cute.

A cool thing though is that we're having a history dance show at Mandell Theater (our own little Broadway on campus). It's next Thursday and I'm hype. If you have facebook, you can check this out (click here). It's great because since their dancing through time, I get to indulge in my passion for history without sitting in lecture. Yay Drexel!

They're also having a muppet show, but that's off campus. It's only $15.00 dollars with a undergrad. I.D. Can you say sale? I'm going to be all over the place. And it's good clean fun. So I get to act out with my friends while watching "educational" theater productions (they don't feel educational because they're so fun!).

I'm ghost (gone). I have work in the morning (yay work study!!). Catch you lovely people later.
